Parking brake: service mode

The rear caliper motors retract the pistons so the pads can be changed.

Odyx Pro

What changes

The rear caliper motors retract the pistons so the calipers can be removed and the pads replaced. Workshop only.

Details

Service mode of the electromechanical parking brake: routine 03A1 in the ABS unit. Afterwards the pistons are retracted and the brake does not work — the car must not be moved. After replacing the pads, run “close after pad replacement” and then “test”.

Before you start

Takes about 1 min.

  • Car on a lift or secure stands, front wheels chocked
  • Ignition on, engine off
  • Parking brake released
  • Pedals not pressed, nobody near the rear wheels

  3. Open the feature card: before / after / how to check, and the change plan.
