What changes
Unit 09, object 0A58: byte 3, bit 6 = 1 — “Tagfahrlicht-Dauerfahrlicht aktiviert zusaetzlich Standlicht”. In daytime the parking lights and tail lights come on together with the DRL; the light switch stays in AUTO.

On the A3 8Y this is a unit 09 adaptation in the “Tagfahrlicht” group, not a lamp channel reassignment. The bit position is derived: on the newer module the group is object 0A58 with the same layout as the older 0D02 shifted by 3 bytes (checked against four neighbouring options of the group); the adaptation channels follow ascending bits — (2) b3.1, (5) b3.5, (9) b4.2, and between (5) and (9) there are exactly three fields — b3.6, b3.7 and the DRL mode b4.0–4.1, so channel (6) is b3.6. Owners report brighter instrument lighting and a green parking-light icon in the cockpit. To switch it from the MMI, also enable the DRL menu item (0A58 b3.1). Unit 09 is SFD-protected. Roll back by writing the object backup from history.
