Wireless CarPlay

CarPlay over Wi‑Fi, no cable.

Odyx Pro↻ MMI restarts

What changes

Module 5F (MIB3): wireless CarPlay, 2.4 and 5 GHz Wi‑Fi, App Connect over Wi‑Fi. Two maps — 0555 + 0804/0805 or 0516/0B43/0555/0517/0518; Odyx takes the one the module has. Multimedia region (both parts) — DE.

Details

The function enables the wireless connection, not the licence: wired CarPlay must already work. The maps are the same as on the A3 8Y (objects from the MIB3 firmware adaptation table). On a Q3 F3 with MIB2+ (2019–2020) wireless CarPlay uses other channels and these objects are absent — Odyx refuses before writing; the MS2p without navigation has no such function at all. The last step sets the multimedia region: both parts, 0B49 and 09CB, = DE (4445). On a Chinese unit the 5 GHz access point and wireless projection appear only with a European region, not with CN or RU; both parts are written together, otherwise the region flips at start-up. The region also changes the FM grid and the regional MMI settings. The MMI restarts after writing; enable Wi‑Fi in the MMI settings, delete the old pairing on the phone and in the MMI and pair the phone again. If module 5F is SFD-protected (Q3 F3 from model year 2021), Odyx asks for a token; some Chinese MIB3 units have no SFD — then no token is needed. Rollback: write the object backups from the history.

Odyx · Owner’s manualHow to use

How to enable it in Odyx

  1. Plug an ELM327 Bluetooth LE adapter into the OBD port (on a Mac also Wi‑Fi, USB or DoIP).
  2. Odyx scans the units, recognises the car and shows what is on and what can be enabled.
  3. Open the feature card: before / after / how to check, and the change plan.
  4. Confirm the write. A backup is made automatically; put it back from the logbook any time.
